Our Quality Promise
At Pastoral® our goal is to delight our customers with artisan products of highest quality. As artisan products are made by hand, they may vary slightly from batch to batch and as the seasons change. We believe that the non-standard nature of our products is a great asset, and hope that you do too. That said, if for any reason you are unhappy with the quality of the product that you have received, please contact us and we will make it right.
Cut and Weighed Items
Most of our cheeses are cut to order. The minimum amount that we make available for purchase is 1/2 pound. While our cut-to-order policy ensures both the quality and freshness of the cheese, please understand that it also opens up the possibility of us shipping a piece of cheese that weighs slightly more or less than the amount you requested.
Government regulations concerning the interstate sale and shipment of alcohol are currently being revisited, and often times, re-written. Depending on where you live, we may or may not be able to ship bottles of wine to you. Our policy is to follow Federal Express’ guidelines concerning the shipment of alcohol. We do not ship wine to the following states:

Customers that are purchasing wine from www.pastoralartisan.com and the person receiving the order must be at least 21 years of age. With this in mind, we reserve the right to refuse orders for any reason without explanation.
For online purchases, Pastoral® accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash, check or money orders and we cannot ship C.O.D. Sales Tax will automatically be added to orders shipped to Illinois addresses.
Out of Stock Items
As many of our products are made by hand in small batches, it is conceivable that we could be out of stock from time to time. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. When we run out of a product, however, we will make every effort to update the shopping cart at www.pastoralartisan.com accordingly. If you order a product and we later find out that it is out of stock, we will contact you either by email or by phone and offer you the following options:
- Backorder: We will attempt to give you an estimated time of arrival and alert you when the product has been shipped.
- Substitute: While all of our products have a distinct character, we can ship you a substitute that most closely resembles your original order.
- Cancel: If you can’t wait for the product and you don’t want to accept a substitute, we will refund your purchase.
